Frank Catalano

Frank Catalano is one of the Northeast’s most knowledgeable lawn care professionals. An experienced businessperson and an entrepreneur from the age of 14, Frank has built several successful organizations during his long career. Providing quality service has always been his hallmark. He is guided by his firm belief that retaining customers, rather than replacing customers, is the key to success.

When it comes to lawn care, Frank believes that every customer has the right to expect his or her lawn to look better at the end of the season than it did in the spring. Yet he knows that many lawn care companies focus on selling profitable lawn renovations and neglect small, bare areas that annoy customers and can prompt them to choose a different service provider. Recognizing this, it became abundantly clear to Frank that a better lawn-repair hand tool was needed to keep customers happy. After years of research and many prototypes, he developed the revolutionary Grass Stitcher. The Grass Stitcher is easy to operate. It efficiently uses body mechanics to achieve ideal planting holes for seed growth. And it’s built to last a lifetime. Frank launched the Grass Stitcher on Aug. 1, 2009. He now heads Grass Stitcher LLC, which promises to usher in a new era of lawn care.

Before founding Grass Stitcher LLC, Frank was for four years the owner/operator of LawnGuru LLC. Frank founded LawnGuru LLC in order to provide central Connecticut with responsible, organic lawn care, superior personal service and outstanding results. As head of LawnGuru, Frank combined his in-depth knowledge of horticulture with a personal approach to ensuring each and every customer’s complete satisfaction.

Prior to founding LawnGuru LLC, Frank was founder and president of Organicare Inc., a highly successful organic lawn care company serving the residential market with franchises throughout the Northeast.

Frank founded Organicare to address the needs of customers tired of the harsh chemicals and poor service associated with large, national companies.

While leading Organicare for 13 years, Frank pioneered numerous advances in organic lawn care, including what may be the first organic weed control treatment, a unique organic-based fertilizer blend and a process that weans lawns from pesticides. He also broke new ground in using advanced technology to manage an owner-operated network of franchises effectively, resulting in superior customer service.

An entrepreneur with a passion for creating beautiful outdoor environments, Frank began his career at age 14, mowing neighborhood lawns. Soon, he was running his own business, Frank’s Lawn & Landscape, and he used his earnings to put himself through college. After receiving an associate’s degree in electrical engineering, Frank went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in environmental horticulture from the University of Connecticut.

After graduating from UConn, Frank started WillowBrook Landscape Designs, a landscape design and installation company. During the nine years he ran this company, he acquired additional, in-depth knowledge and skills. He also became aware of the shortcomings in the lawn-care industry and the disappointing results large, national lawn care companies produced. This led to the launch of Organicare.

Today, as head of Grass Stitcher LLC, Frank is using his extensive background and knowledge to offer lawn-care professionals and homeowners an innovative lawn-repair tool that is economical, efficient and effective.
