It is a common problem with de-icing salt, however, choosing a rock salt or natural brown de-icing salt can have the advance of not spread further than it needs as the additional abrasion helps grip it to the ice, road and path. Providing that good drainage is in place, the salty thaw should remain away from the lawn.

Either way - salt is bad for your lawn, and ultimately, whatever you choose to do, use with caution.

Lawn care for growing grass as we enter May has different needs than what is expected in late summer and fall. The way you mow your lawn can either make growing grass easier or harder. In the spring, you need to keep the grass high. You should also leave grass clippings on the lawn to help recycle important lawn fertilizing nutrients. It’s also important to give your grass the fertilizing lawn care and control treatments it needs based on the season.

Use a sharp blade to keep grass healthy — and greener, as a dull blade can tear up the ends of the grass which will then turn brown. Before buying one, follow some tips, factors and guides to help you decide on which kind of mower will be beneficial for your lawn garden.

Hey Jeff

I agree, if your customer understands it may take a bit longer and tolerate a few more weeds then it's a better choice.
